Description

Yep, I’ll help you get your chair redone. I’ve done it many times. Contrary to common belief, not everyone needs to be in person to learn how to upholster. Beginning in 2014, I created four top selling online upholstery and furniture flipping courses that taught hundreds of students to learn how to upholster. Once Covid hit, like so many teachers, I quickly adapted and taught live online workshops through ZOOM. In both online formats, with thorough instruction and decades of experience, I was able to teach Upholstery for any students who wanted, or needed, to learn in the comfort of their own homes. Essentially, I brought the teaching to them.

Thankfully, we’re beyond those Covid years.  One of the most beneficial things that came out of the massive world shut down was that the online education industry took off, and continues to grow by leaps and bounds.  Classes and workshops we could never dream of taking have become as accessible as our laptops. It’s phenomenal, really. We can take online courses from Harvard!

This year, I’m responding to many former students’ requests, as well as prospective students’ inquiries, by offering LIVE (ZOOM) 1:1 upholstery lessons or on site. You may be thinking that anything you need to know can be found on YouTube. That’s the general consensus, but the truth is that not everything has an easily findable video on You Tube. But how often do those videos NOT pertain to the specifics of your project?  And most of us don’t want to spend our time and effort weeding through videos that don’t apply. It’s downright frustrating.

Another beautiful online outcome of the pandemic was that niche experts found global audiences who were looking for teachers in niche areas. Painting, woodworking, bookbinding, saddlery, you name it, the internet provides us with access to any kind of expert teacher we are looking for. Looking to learn how to rebuild and revamp your dad’s old office chair? It’s doubtful there will be a video for that exact chair. But…..

…what if you could hire a private teacher to teach you exactly how to make that sentimental favorite chair you remember as a kid, into a fresh, new, modern mainstay in your home office?  You might find a live upholstery class somewhere.  It could be a long drive, it could be at an inconvenient time.

You get the picture. I’m your Upholstery Tutor. A private teacher makes the process streamlined, planned, full of resources and built on over 30 years in the business. Would it be worth it to you?
